








What we do?
Mizan Research Centre (MRC), Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) was established in May 2016 and aims to disseminate information regarding Mizan (Balance) in every aspect of human lives as prescribed in the Holy Quran in Surah al-Rahman. The centre celebrates universal values for all humankind.
Our Projects

Kampung Mizan Initiative Kampung Mizan Initiative adopts an exploratory discourse on the concept of kampung (village) by revisiting the perspectives of collectivism, harmony and religion entailed in the invocation of the concept of kampung. The research seeks to reclaim the noble values encompassed in the concept of kampung through the narrative of rural tranquility and social bonding, where the beauty of the values of close-knitted family, filial piety, courtesy, integrity, tolerance and, more importantly, moderation are immortalised.

Qalb-Guided Leadership Qalb Guided Leadership project was started in 2016 as an initiative of Chair of Islamic Leadership, Faculty of Leadership and Management, USIM. Qalb Guided Leadership project aims to describe the concept and practice of Traquil Heart as a foundation of impactful leadership. The project also explains the concept and practice of leadership based on the four cardinal virtues (wisdom, justice, courage and temperance) as the framework of Qalb-guided leadership

Kampong Bharu – Citra Sebuah Mizan Kampong Bharu Kuala Lumpur is the first study of Kampung Mizan Initiative. The study was conducted with the collaboration of the Malay Agricultral Settlement (M.A.S) of Kampong Bharu. The project was published in the form of a documentary entitled "Kampong Bharu: Citra Sebuah Mizan". The documentary raised the issues of Kampong Bharu development which could be considered as highly complicated and volatile in the context of the people's aspiration, future demand, and the preservation of history and traditions of the village.

Mizan Knowledge for Change (K4C) Hub Mizan K4C Hub USIM was awarded with CBPR / K4C Mentors Certificate from UNESCO Chair in Community Based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education & University of Victoria, Canada (19th September 2019). The certificate was conferred at UNESCO House, New Delhi, India
